We hired Gammon & Grange to help us through a tragic situation where we experienced huge financial consequences due to the malpractice of our CPA. There were referred to us by trustworthy colleagues in the industry and G&G did not disappoint. Despite how painful and discouraging the entire situation was, our G&G attorneys were incredibly knowledgeable, controlled, professional, and supportive. And ultimately, we won the settlement for which we were seeking. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat and truthfully, we've continued to use them for the sake of ongoing consulting.
We highly recommend Gammon & Grange for any nonprofit in need of expert legal guidance. We have worked with Derek Gaubatz and his team on a variety of matters for our nonprofit, including governance, contracts, and compliance. They have always been timely and thorough in all matters.
We had the pleasure of working with Gammon & Grange to establish a non-profit legal entity, and we couldn't be more satisfied with their services. Our team had a clear vision and mission, but we lacked experience in setting up the necessary legal structures. Thanks to their expert guidance, we moved from vision to reality.Derek Gaubatz and the team at Gammon & Grange took the time to understand our organization’s unique needs and provided clear guidance at every step. Their responsiveness and attention to detail gave us confidence that our organization was in capable hands. They were professional, efficient, and attentive throughout the entire process. We highly recommend their services to any organization seeking legal counsel for non-profit formation or related legal matters.
If you're in need of an experienced non-profit attorney, I highly recommend Derek Gaubatz. He helped review a 501(c) officer employment contract and very quickly demonstrated his knowledge, background, and insight. I'll definitely be using Derek in the future.
Gammon & Grange has been a tremendous asset for our education nonprofit. Their guidance in legal compliance and risk mitigation related to employment law and work in international settings has been invaluable.
The faith-based nonprofit organization, SAT-7 USA, with which I serve as president, representing international ministry SAT-7, has worked with Gammon & Grange for several years. In particular, my experience is with Derek Gaubatz, who led a thorough legal and professional review of our Employee Handbook, hiring documents and employment contracts, faith statements, and job descriptions, revising, updating, and as needed rewriting much of the text to produce a clear, accurate, current set of human resources documents for SAT-7 USA. We commissioned this review to assure, as best we could, our personnel and the organization were protected re our religious identity and religious liberty, compliance, and avoidance of litigation. Mr. Gaubatz's grasp of our identity and purpose, legal insight, and writing were excellent in every way. Our governance Board reviewed all these resources and, upon administrative recommendation, endorsed and adopted them for SAT-7 USA. The Board, along with members of my team, were pleased with the final results of the exercise. I highly commend and recommend without reservation Mr. Derek Gaubatz.
G&G are wonderful. A professional firm, of the highest order. The partners are attentive to all our concerns and engage in depth with us on the issues possible results and best strategies.
As a non-profit working internationally for religious freedom, it has been such a blessing to have this resource for questions about navigating the management issues in foreign countries as well as the United States.
I highly recommend Gammon & Grange for any nonprofit or faith-based organization in need of expert legal guidance. I have worked with Derek Gaubatz and his team on a variety of matters, for my church and religious ministry clients, including medical accommodations, contract review and FLSA status. Gammon and Grange has a deep understanding of the unique legal challenges faced by ministries. They also provide counsel on intellectual property, board governance, and risk management, ensuring ministries remains in full compliance. Derek’s advice was both strategic and compassionate. Gammon and Grange’s expertise in nonprofit law, especially with faith-based organizations, is unmatched. If your organization requires legal support, particularly around issues of constitutionality and religious liberty, you won't find a better partner.
I got in contact with Robert Adams as I was referred to him with very high reviews. I spoke to him on the phone about a workman’s compensation issue I had going on. Unfortunately, I was very displeased with my conversation with him. I would think that a lawyer who has been working for 50 years, as he had to mention to me, would know how to talk to people. However, the way he spoke was very demeaning towards me and borderline sexist. I appreciate honesty and an upfront answer but there is a way to do it respectfully. I am a young person but that does not mean I can be disrespected.
Gammon & Grange has been a significant help to us as we grow our international ministry, especially in areas of intellectual property, contract law, and international law. We are grateful for their time, counsel, and support in so many diverse areas.
For more than 40 years of recommending nonprofits to Gammon & Grange, especially churches and faith-based organizations, not one has reported any concerns. They have a mid-size firm with some specialization that is very client-oriented. Couldn't speak more highly of their attorneys.
Shade, a non-profit with a mission to transform lives by sharing the tangible love and living hope of Christ with people who have albinism in Tanzania has been supported by exceptional legal counsel from Derek Gaubatz since 2022 upon the retirement of our counsel who enthusiastically recommended Gammon & Grange. In addition to the valuable legal advice, we are blessed by Derek's responsive, compassionate, faith-based expertise. After a comprehensive analysis, he advised our Board on Amending and Restating our Bylaws, and instituting Charitable Registrations in several states. As Shade School grows and our community outreach programs expand, we will continue to rely on Gammon & Grange for all of our governance and compliance needs. Five stars from Shade- especially for Derek Gaubatz and Elizabeth Flanagan!
As a leader of a nonprofit faith-based school, I rely heavily upon the team at G&G to advise and guide me in navigating religious liberty, board governance, and Christian school-related issues so that I can best serve and protect my school. Over the past two years, the G&G team has exceeded my expectations in terms of their knowledge, experience, timeliness, thoughtfulness, and comprehensive manner in addressing my myriad issues, concerns, and tasks at hand. I highly recommend the G&G team (Derek, Matthew, and Scott) and would give them a 10-star rating, if possible!
I’m so grateful for the expertise and counsel of G&G's Derek Gaubitz. He has provided timely, professional, and constructive solutions for incorporating our religious school as a tax-exempt non-profit, reviewing and drafting employment contracts, and helping us form as a faith-based ministry. His trustworthy guidance has been critical to our launch.
We couldn't be more grateful for the expertise we have received through Gammon & Grange, specifically through Derek Gaubatz. The firm's deep knowledge of how to assist faith-based nonprofits is incomparable. Highly recommend!!
This team is professional and serves our charity that specializes in international ministry with excellence. Their expertise in compliance for nonprofit organizations is so appreciated. Their response time when we reach out is unprecedented in our experience. I have no hesitancy in recommending Gammon and Grange for all of your legal needs related to faith-based ministries and charities.
Following my bike accident, Chip let me know that G&G had a personal injury atty, RA. I found RA to be thorough, aggressive enough but fair-minded. I appreciated his counsel all along, but found communicating with him somewhat difficult, with him sometimes using personal / sometimes G&G email. And I thought he could've been a bit clearer on the Medicare matters, which are confusing to the novice. All in all, a great experience and thanks so much!
What they did for me in a time when things were real dismal and the fact they negotiated a larger settlement then I expected by at least triple the amount it may have taken a while as I was chattering my teeth he stayed in the game and got it done ✅ no fear at least on his part so thanks again to Bob for all the good advice during that time and yes I did recommend you guys already because I think you’re from the old school where you care about how your getting it done and the people you’re serving and as I told you up front you weren’t picked you were selected there is a difference
Gammon & Grange helped us to establish the bylaws, file articles of incorporation, and achieve 501(c)(3) status for our newly formed Classical Christian school in Virginia. Mr. Gaubatz did an outstanding job of listening to our needs and providing sound advice throughout the process. The billing statements are thorough and easily understood. I highly recommend G&G and will continue to seek their counsel as our school grows.

Vapor Ministries recently partnered with Derek Gaubatz of Gammon & Grange to guide us through strengthening our child protection policies following a referral from a trusted ministry partner. Derek and the G&G team shepherded us through this process, providing sound wisdom and guidance, timely feedback, and encouraging words. He added value at each step of the process, exceeding expectations across the board. We are a medium sized church which has run into a variety of legal related issues in recent years and have turned to G&G and Derek Gaubatz for help; the assistance has been professional, on-point, friendly and very timely as we've worked together on board govenance, risk management and complex commercial loan issues.
Gammon & Grange has been responsive and cordial, thorough during fact-finding, and always provides easy-to-understand counsel. They allow me to get back to running my business!!
